Many activities have been planned for this weekend at the Belington Fall Fest. Events kickoff with the Opening Ceremony at 6 pm Friday evening at the Main Stage in front of Weese’s Music Center.

Following the opening ceremony the much anticipated return of the Miss Belington Pageant will decide which young lady will be Miss Belington for 2013-14.

Also at 6 pm, the Cornhole Tournament will kick off in the Town Square area. Registration for the cornhole tournament is $20.00 for double elimination. Friday’s events will wrap up with Karoake from 8 to 10 pm. Food and various game concessions will be open during the evening.


Saturday’s events begin at 10 am. A full slate of activities have been planned for the day. The Flaming Kickoff of the 1st Annual BBQ Cookoff begins at 10am at the Town Square. Registration for the BBQ Cookoff starts at 9 am and a cook’s meeting will be held at 9:30. A full house of crafters and other vendors will be open from 10 – 6 pm at the Belington Fire house with candles, jewelry, purses and homemade crafts available for sale. Also at the Town Square area games galore will be open including a bounce house, dime pitch, pick up ducks, ring toss, fish bowl and other fun activities. Food concessions will also be sold at the Town Square throughout the day.


Entertainment begins at noon at the Main Stage on Saturday. We have local favorite Jay McClung kicking off the entertainment from noon to 1:30. Parade line-up starts at 1:30 across from Sheetz at the intersection of Route 250 and 92. The parade begins at 2 pm


Following the parade, entertainment will continue on the Main Stage with local favorit Jeff Frey performing a variety of classics from 2:30 to 4 pm. BBQ Cookoff cooks will turn in their BBQ for judging at 4 pm and the winners will be announced immediately following the judges’ decision.


From 4:30 – 6 pm, local favorites Eric and Jana Ruff will perform at the Main Stage. Last but definitely not least, the day’s activities will conclude with a a twirlette demonstration by the Barbour County Strutters at 6 pm.


Sunday’s activities include the Annual Belington Fire Department Car Show from 10 am to 2 pm in the Belington Post Office and Shop N Save area. Prizes will be awarded. The Fire Department will also be selling their famous Chicken BBQ during the Car Show on Sundady.


Door prizes that have been donated by various craft show vendors and Belington businesses will be presented at the Main Stage on Saturday from 4 to 7 pm. Registration boxes are available at various downtown Belington businesses and will be available Friday and Saturday during the Fall Fest.


Many wonderful volunteers have worked together to make this event possible for the community. Please come out and support their efforts and have some fun with your family, friends and neighbors.
