An evening of food, fun and music is planned for June 20th as part of the grand opening of the Belington Walking Trail and a community celebration of West Virginia’s 150th Birthday.
A ribbon cutting ceremony has been set for 6 pm on Thursday, June 20th at the Belington City Park to commemorate the grand opening of the newly constructed Belington Walking Trail.
Immediately following the ribbon cutting will be a “fun run” in which the community is invited to come and walk or run the trail to the bridge and back to the park.
Following the “fun run”, the community is invited to the WV 150th Birthday party in the park and enjoy free hot dogs, WV birthday cake, play games and listen to music.
The walking trail extends ½ mile from the Belington Bridge along the Tygart Valley River to the Belington City Park. The project has been a joint project between the City of Belington and Belington Revitalization Committee/ON TRAC over the past 5 years. The project was made possible through WVDOT grant funding and the generous contributions of various businesses and individuals in Belington. The Walking Trail Committee would like to thank all of those who helped to make this great addition to Belington possible.
